Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 17, 2026

Aqarak is a mortgage affordability calculator for the Saudi market. We comply with the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and the rights you have over your data.

Data we collect

Account email and (if provided) name, collected when you sign up. Calculation inputs you save (salary, existing obligations, property price, loan parameters) — these are stored under your user account. Authentication tokens and session state. Basic request metadata (IP, user agent) for security and abuse prevention.

How we use your data

To provide the calculator, remember your profile, and let you save and revisit past calculations. For security monitoring and to prevent abuse. We do not sell your data. We do not share it with advertisers. We do not use it to train third-party models.

Legal basis

We process your data under your explicit consent (signing up) and, where applicable, our legitimate interest in running the service securely.

Retention

Account data is retained while your account exists. Saved calculations remain until you delete them. Audit logs are retained for up to 12 months for security. Deleting your account purges your data within 30 days.

Your rights (PDPL)

Right of access: request a copy of your data. Right to correction: update inaccurate data via your profile. Right to deletion: delete your account or individual calculations. Right to withdraw consent: stop using the service and request deletion. Right to lodge a complaint with the Saudi Data & Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA).

Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest on Google Cloud infrastructure. Access is restricted to authenticated requests against your own data.
